-Needle selection: Automatic, using a mechanical drum-punch card system. By inserting the card with the pattern you want to knit (12 needles repeated in the desired width by the desired length), selecting the desired fabric width, moving the carriage, and that's it. It automatically creates the desired design with each pass.

-Needle bed. The Silver Reed SK-155 knitting machines feature a metal needle bed, a single-block frame, three-point needle clamping, a rear metal rack, a metal strap in the center, and a foam bar in the front. The single-block frame provides great structural rigidity, regular stitch formation, and eliminates long-term horizontal play.

-Carriage. The Silver Reed SK-155 heavy gauge knitting machines feature pattern selection via a simple centralized cam, which determines the needle travel, whether for front (knitted, retained, etc.), central (plain, etc.), or rear (slipped, etc.) channels. It also features Russell levers for partial knitting and selection of stitch sizes.
